Lexile is a measure of "reading ability and the text complexity of reading materials."

We wanted to ensure that readers could read a hilarious and witty story while increasing their vocabulary at the same time.

#THESTRUGGLEBOOKS Series was created to meet several needs. These books are funny AND educational. To extend the reader's vocabulary, larger words were used purposely to challenge the reader. It is done in a contextual way to entertain as well as learn. Lastly, these books are meant to show an African American family, just being a family. This is important because this is not typically shown in society and is important for everyone to see and understand
